The review focused on the ongoing initiatives under the 4G Saturation Project, BharatNet Phase-III, Vibrant Villages Programme, and preparatory activities for 5G rollout. The meeting also reviewed initiatives under the Samriddh Gram Panchayat (SGP) pilot project, aimed at enhancing broadband access to schools, health institutions, and government offices.

Dr. Singla emphasized on the importance of close coordination among departments to ensure the timely execution and resolution of site-specific and administrative bottlenecks. He directed implementing agencies, including BSNL, LSA, and concerned line departments, to adhere to prescribed timelines for the implementation of projects and remove bottlenecks on a case-by-case basis.

The Secretary stressed the need for sustained inter-departmental coordination to ensure early execution and completion of all connectivity projects across J&K.

Dr. Singla commended the efforts of all departments for their commitment to digital empowerment and directed that pending issues be resolved with priority. He reiterated that the Government of Jammu and Kashmir remains dedicated to bridging the digital divide, ensuring universal telecom coverage, and fostering inclusive growth in alignment with the Digital India Mission.

The deployment of the “Call Before You Dig (CBuD)” application was appreciated by Secretary for ensuring the safety of underground telecom infrastructure through better coordination among various implementing agencies.

During the meeting, it was informed that significant progress has been made in extending 4G services to far-flung and previously unconnected habitations, providing much-needed access to reliable digital communication. It was also given out that the BharatNet project is further laying a strong foundation for high-speed internet connectivity to every Gram Panchayat, supporting e-governance, education, and health services at the grassroots level.
