During the meeting, the Secretary took a detailed college/department-wise assessment, with a focus on procedural and structural bottlenecks affecting the timely referral of vacancies to recruiting agencies. He also reviewed the status of Non-Gazetted vacancies referred to the Jammu & Kashmir Services Selection Board (JKSSB).

The Secretary called upon the officers to maintain due coordination with JKPSC and JKSSB for expediting recruitment process against already referred posts. He also stressed upon all the officers to work in synergy and ensure timely referral of vacancies.

The Secretary also instructed the officers for the timely finalisation of recruitment rules. He asked them to maintain coordination with ARI & Training departments to expedite the vetting process of the rules.

The meeting was informed that the recruitment rules have been consolidated and are currently under review in consultation with institutional heads and finalisation of these rules is being actively pursued with the designated department and other relevant stakeholders.

It was also announced in the meeting that 105 newly created Assistant Professor posts, 15 each across seven new GMCs, have been formally referred to JKPSC for recruitment.

The Secretary was also informed that due to increasing patient load and expanding services and responsibilities of effective patient care, the Department is working to address the challenges faced in both teaching and clinical domains, and accordingly efforts are underway to ensure that the doctor-patient ratio remains maintained as per norms and guidelines.
