Budgam: In its continued action against terror networks and their handlers, the Jammu and Kashmir Police on Tuesday attached immovable property belonging to a terror handler in Dasan, Beerwah, Budgam district.
According to police, property measuring three kanals and nineteen marlas was attached after obtaining prior approval from the competent authority. The property belonged to Fayaz Ahmad alias Gadda, who had exfiltrated to Pakistan and was found to be using the asset to promote terrorist activities in Kashmir.
During the course of investigation, it was revealed that Fayaz Ahmad was attempting to sell the land with the intention of using the proceeds to fund and support terrorist operations. Following this revelation, police obtained sanction under Section 25 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act – UAPA in connection with FIR No. 56/2019 registered at Police Station Chadoora, leading to the formal attachment of the property, Police said.
Police said the accused, currently based in Pakistan, continues to be involved in anti-national activities from across the border.
