DIG NKR chairs crime and security review meeting in Bandipora

Baramulla: To review the overall crime and security scenario of District Bandipora, DIG North Kashmir Range (NKR) Baramulla, Shri Maqsood-Ul-Zaman, visited District Bandipora.

At the onset of the visit, the DIG inaugurated the newly built Martyrs’ Memorial (constructed in memory of Martyr Inspector Mohmad Altaf), the Recreation Hall, and the District Training Lab at District Police Lines (DPL) Bandipora. The DIG NKR, accompanied by SSP Bandipora Harmeet Singh Mehta, and other officers, paid floral tributes at the Martyrs’ Memorial as a mark of respect to the fallen heroes of the force.

Following the inauguration ceremony, the DIG chaired a comprehensive crime review meeting at the Conference Hall, DPL Bandipora. The meeting was attended by SSP Bandipora, Addl. SP Bandipora, all supervisory officers, SHOs, and other relevant stakeholders. During the meeting, SSP Bandipora gave a detailed presentation on the prevailing crime scenario in the district, highlighting major achievements, ongoing investigations, and various preventive measures taken to curb criminal activities.

Subsequently, a security review meeting was convened, attended by officers from the Army, CAPFs, and Bandipora Police. The meeting focused on assessing the current security situation and strengthening the existing grid to ensure peace and public safety across the district.

While addressing the officers, DIG NKR Baramulla stressed the need for maintaining a robust security apparatus, plugging potential gaps, and adopting proactive strategies to counter emerging challenges. He also emphasized inter-agency coordination and directed officers to remain vigilant to uphold the peaceful atmosphere of the district.

The DIG appreciated the efforts of Bandipora Police for their dedication and professionalism in maintaining law and order and ensuring the safety and security of the people of Bandipora.
