Addressing the officers, MP Ghulam Ali Khatana emphasized the need for proactive and people-centric governance, especially in the far-flung and border areas of Kupwara. He urged officials to view their roles as an opportunity to uplift marginalized communities, with special attention to the poor and destitute sections of society.

During the detailed departmental review, the MP sought updates on the implementation of government schemes and performance indicators under key developmental and welfare programs. He laid special emphasis on Rural sanitation and solid waste management, rationalization of teaching staff across government schools, implementation of Forest Rights Act, saturation of PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana, improving road connectivity in unconnected and inaccessible areas.

The MP assured full support from the Union Government in resolving public grievances and in ensuring the timely completion of developmental projects. He stressed that bottlenecks delaying critical infrastructure work must be identified and addressed with urgency.

While appreciating the ongoing efforts, MP Khatana commended the District Administration of Kupwara, led by the Deputy Commissioner, for its resilience and commitment to service delivery under challenging geographic and climatic conditions. He lauded the collaborative efforts of all departments in steering development in the strategically significant and backward district.

The MP also reiterated the Centre’s resolve to strengthen last-mile delivery of services, promising to be an active facilitator for channeling more support and funding to frontier districts like Kupwara.
