The Union Minister released the 21st advance instalment of PM Kisan Samman Nidhi to all eligible farmers, including those in Jammu and Kashmir. Approximately 8.55 lakh beneficiaries from J&K will benefit from this initiative.

The Union Minister also announced assistance of rupees 1.40 lakh for damaged houses with an additional ₹30,000 for each household, making it a total of ₹1.70 lakhs.

Javid Dar said that the release of the 21st instalment of PM Kisan Samman Nidhi is a significant step towards providing financial assistance to farmers and promoting agricultural growth in J&K, particularly after the recent floods. “This development is a testament to the close coordination between the Agriculture Production Department (APD) under the guidance of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and the Union government,” he stated.

He further said that the timely release of funds will likely provide much-needed relief to farmers in J&K, enabling them to revive their agricultural activities and rebuild their livelihoods. He added that the collaboration between the J&K and central governments demonstrates their commitment to supporting the agricultural sector and promoting the overall development of J&K.

Javid Dar requested the Union Minister to provide a special package for Jammu and Kashmir to address the unique challenges and requirements of the region, particularly in the agriculture sector, as previously discussed during the visit of the Union Minister to Jammu.

Additional Chief Secretary, APD, Shailendra Kumar; Secretary Technical APD, G A Sofi; Director Agriculture Kashmir, Sartaj Ahmad Shah and other officers were also present in the meeting.
