“He became one of the two general secretaries of the Kashmir Literary Society and was actively involved in other college activities, such as athletics, literature, and student union activities. From 1939 until 1943, he served as the General Secretary of the J&K section of the All India Students Federation, which he was affiliated with. When Mahatma Gandhi visited Kashmir in August 1947, he had the honor of serving as his local secretary, Prof. Shahid Rasool stated in his speech,” Prof Shahid Rasool said in his address.

Sahni, a multifaceted, endearing individual and an amazing presenter, he claimed, in his over his 60-year journalism career, represented nearly all of the major news outlets, including national and international newspapers, magazines, wire agencies, radio, and television.

“Sahni was a pioneer of photo-journalism in Kashmir, which was his first and lasting passion, but he was also one of the few well-known journalists in the nation who had mastered practically every aspect of journalism,” he added.
