Srinagar: Police in Sopore have solved two burglary cases by arresting four accused persons and recovered stolen property from their possession, a police spokesperson informed Saturday.
He said while investigating a case of burglary Tujjer Shareef, police zeroed in on one suspect Mudasir Ahmad Ganie, son of Farooq Ahmad Ganie of Tujjer Shareef, who confessed his involvement during questioning.
Police said that Ganie had sold stolen items to two auto-drivers for ₹1300. Subsequently, these auto-drivers identified as Danish Ahmad Dar, son of Mohammad Shafi Dar, and Tariq Ahmad Shah, son of Abdul Rashid Shah, both residents of Maharajpora Sopore were also arrested and stolen property was recovered from their possession. All three accused persons are under police remand, and their interrogation is continuing for further recoveries on other theft cases, police said.
In another case of theft at Shalimar Colony B Sopore, police have arrested a “habitual hardcore thief” identified as Sameer Ahmad Shah alias Chota Antta, son of Mohammad Yousuf Shah of Neharpora Sopore, red-handedly along with the stolen property, police said, adding that further investigation is going on.
