Budgam: A 68-year-old man died after falling from an under-construction mosque in the Shippra Magam area of central Kashmir’s Budgam district Thursday.
The deceased was identified as Muhammad Yousuf Sofi, a local of the area.
According to initial accounts, Sofi was engaged at the construction site of a mosque in Shippra Magam when he suddenly slipped and fell from a height. He was shifted in critical condition to SMHS Hospital Srinagar where he succumbed to his injuries shortly after admission.
Police officials confirmed the incident, stating that a case has been registered and necessary medico-legal formalities completed. They added that the body of the deceased was handed over to his family for last rites. (KNT)
