Srinagar: Police have arrested three drug peddlers and recovered a “substantial quantity” of contraband substances from their possession in Kulgam district.
A police spokesperson informed that three persons were arrested by a police party during routine patrolling at Baghi Sakloo, Mirbazar, after 80 grams of cannabis and 2.7 kilograms of wet cannabis leaves were recovered from their possession.
Police identified the arrested persons as Zahid Bashir Bhat, son of Bashir Ahmad Bhat of Bonpora Nambal, Anantnag; Aidal Ahmad Wani, son of Mohammad Iqbal Wani of Khandaypora Krangsoo, Anantnag; and Razwan Ahmad Itoo, son of Nazir Ahmad Itoo, resident of Hangalpahlo, Pahalgam, Anantnag.
A case under relevant sections of law was registered at Police Station Qazigund for investigation, police said.
