Iqra Bilal of GDC (W) Anantnag bags second place in Kashmir Division Declamation Contest

ANANTNAG: As a proud moment for Government Degree College (Women) Anantnag, Iqra Bilal, a first-year student of the college, secured second position in the Division Level Declamation Contest, held on Monday at Srinagar.

The event was organized in connection with Gandhi Jayanti celebrations on the theme “The Relevance of Gandhian Philosophy, Particularly Truth and Non-Violence in Contemporary Times”. One student each from all districts of Kashmir Division participated in the competition, which served as a platform for young students to critically engage with Gandhiji’s ideals and reflect on their relevance in addressing contemporary social, ethical, and political challenges.

Iqra Bilal’s performance was distinguished by scholarly insight, clarity of expression, and persuasive articulation, earning accolades from both the jury and audience.

Principal of the college, Professor Dr. Masood Ahmad Malik, Convener Debates and Seminars Committee, Prof. Farooq Ahmad Malik, and the entire teaching and non-teaching staff of the college congratulated Iqra Bilal for her exemplary achievement, calling it a reflection of the college’s commitment to intellectual excellence and holistic student development.

Principal remarked that Iqra Bilal’s success exemplifies her personal dedication and the institution’s ethos of nurturing students who are thoughtful and socially responsible and remain committed to acquiring knowledge.
