Mission Director reviews progress on implementation of JJM across J&K

Urges Chief Engineers to expedite ongoing works for timely scheme completion

SRINAGAR: Mission Director, Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM), Khurshid Ahmad Shah, today convened a virtual meeting to review the progress on implementation of JJM in all Jal Shakti (PHE) Divisions of J&K.

The meeting was attended by Chief Engineer Jal Shakti (PHE) Jammu, Superintending Engineers of respective circles in J&K, Executive Engineers of all civil and Mechanical divisions and other officers of Mission Directorate.

During the meeting, the MD enquired about the present status of Water Supply Schemes under JJM. He was informed about the current phase of the execution of projects.

The MD directed the Chief Engineers to commission those schemes which are nearing completion in first instance, so that the beneficiaries of these villages are connected with tap water network.

The MD also took a district-wise review of scheme completion under JJM. He reaffirmed the ending 2025 deadline for project completion and directed the Superintending Engineers to assess the ground situation and review the progress of works fortnightly so that the timelines set for scheme completion are adhered in letter and spirit.

Khurshid Shah also discussed on boarding of JJM 2.0 dashboard, uploading of KML files of pipe networks and assets on PM Gat Shakti portal, Geo tagging of JJM assets, Har Ghar Jal certification of reported villages in the current month and water quality monitoring and surveillance being undertaken by the water testing laboratories in the UT.

The Mission Director assured the officers that financial matters related to JJM have been taken up with the Ministry of Jal Shakti, Government of India, which has assured full financial and institutional support in the implementation of JJM in J&K.
