Srinagar: Police on Thursday arrested alleged drug peddlers in south Kashmir’s Kulgam and Pulwama districts.
Giving details, a police spokesperson said that Waseem Ahmad Reshi, son of Ghulam Rasool Reshi, resident of Berigam was arrested after 4.8 grams of heroin-like contraband substance was recovered from his possession.
In Pulwama, acting on reliable input, a police team along with concerned Magistrate raided and searched the residential house of Gulzar Ahmed Gatoo, son of Mohammad Abdullah Gatoo of Batpora Naina, and recovered 16.8 kgs of cannabis powder-like substance. The accused was arrested on the spot.
Cases have been registered in these instances and investigations initiated, the spokesperson said.
