IUST convenes BoRS meeting

Awantipora: The Islamic University of Science and Technology (IUST) convened the 6th meeting of its Board of Research Studies (BoRS) for the School of Humanities & Social Sciences today to review academic and research priorities.

Chaired by Vice Chancellor Prof. Shakil A. Romshoo, the meeting brought together internal members and eminent external experts.

Also, present were the Dean of Academic Affairs, the Registrar, the Dean of the school, directors, heads of departments, senior faculty members, and a scholar representative. The meeting was coordinated by Dr Aabid Shalla, Dean of Research.

The Board deliberated on research synopses, course curricula, re-registrations, extensions, and other academic matters across departments, including Journalism & Mass Communication, International Relations, English, Islamic Studies, Arabic, Philosophy and other interdisciplinary areas. Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Romshoo highlighted the critical role of high-quality research in addressing societal challenges and enriching knowledge traditions, reaffirming IUST’s commitment to fostering rigorous scholarship and innovation.
