MLA Rajpora reviews developmental works of Shadimarg, Achgoze & Litter blocks

PULWAMA: Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) Rajpora, Ghulam Mohi Uddin Mir, today convened a meeting at Circuit House Pulwama to review the developmental works of the Rural Development Department (RDD) for blocks Shadimarg, Achgoze, and Litter.

During the meeting, Block Development Officer of Shadimarg, Achgoze, and Litter delivered a detailed presentation highlighting the achievements, ongoing works, and future action plans under various flagship schemes of the department.

The presentations covered progress under MGNREGA, PMAY-G, PRI, SBM-G (Swachh Bharat Mission Gramin), Amrit Sarovar, and other developmental initiatives aimed at strengthening rural infrastructure and improving livelihoods.

MLA emphasised the need for the timely completion of developmental works and called for coordinated efforts among field functionaries to ensure the effective implementation of welfare schemes. He directed officials to ensure enhanced participation of the public in Gram Sabhas so that planning and implementation of works are carried out in a truly participatory and need-based manner.

While reviewing MGNREGA works, MLA directed the concerned officers to ensure that all works are executed strictly as per approved estimates and technical guidelines, maintaining high standards of quality and durability. He stressed that works must be long-lasting, community-oriented, and beneficial to the maximum number of people.

With regard to solid waste management, MLA directed officers to ensure that door-to-door collection of waste is carried out strictly as per the schedule in all panchayat halqas. He also instructed the officials to maintain proper cleanliness in and around segregation sheds so that they may not pose any threat to the local population and scientific management of waste is achieved.

MLA further underlined the importance of convergence between departments to achieve holistic rural development and sustainability.

He also directed field functionaries to intensify on-ground monitoring, maintain transparency through updated work registers and social audits. He highlighted that accountability, transparency, and people’s participation must remain at the core of all developmental efforts.

The meeting was attended by Assistant Engineers, Junior Engineers, Panchayat Secretaries, Technical Assistants, Gram Rozgar Sahayaks (GRSs), and other officials from the concerned blocks.
