Srinagar: Police recovered a “significant quantity” of contraband from a shop in village Watalpora, Beerwah, a police spokesperson informed Tuesday.
He said Police Station Beerwah received specific information regarding the storage of narcotic substances in a shop at Watalpora for illegal sale to the local youth.
A police party accompanied by the Executive Magistrate, conducted a raid at the said shop and recovered approximately four kilograms of contraband substance ‘Ganja’ (marijuana) from the possession of Saddam Yousuf, son of Mohammad Yousuf Mir, resident of Watalpora, Beerwah, who was subsequently arrested.
A case under section 8/20 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Beerwah for investigations, police said.
