Srinagar: Police have solved a hit-and-run case by arresting a person allegedly involved in it, a police spokesperson informed Monday.
He said on September 17, an accident was reported at Lethpora, wherein an unknown vehicle hit and injured a pedestrian, Habibullah Beigh, son of Mohammad Sultan Beigh of Lethpora. The injured person was taken to the hospital for treatment, where he succumbed to injuries.
Accordingly, a case (FIR number 161/2025) under relevant sections of law was registered in Police Station Awantipora and an investigation was initiated.
During subsequent investigations, police arrested the accused driver after hectic efforts. He has been identified as Raj Kumar, son of Krishan Chand of Mova Samba, Jammu. He has been shifted to the police station where he remains in custody. The vehicle (JK21F-4537) involved in the commission of said crime has also been seized, police said.
