Congratulating the graduating students and describing them as the torchbearers of a prosperous and progressive Ladakh, Kavinder Gupta said that the youth of the Union Territory must dream big, remain committed to excellence, and contribute actively to building a stronger and more developed India.

Kavinder Gupta underlined that education, skill development, and women’s empowerment remain top priorities for the UT Administration. He noted that the implementation of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 in Ladakh is opening new opportunities for students to acquire advanced skills, embrace innovation, and become job creators rather than job seekers.

Highlighting the government’s initiatives, the Lt Governor said that investments are being made in modern academic infrastructure, digital learning tools, and industry linkages to enable Ladakh’s youth to compete with the best in the world. He added that special focus is being given to ensuring equitable access to education, particularly for girls, as a vital step toward social progress and empowerment.

The Lt Governor also stressed the importance of research, startups, and entrepreneurship in shaping Ladakh’s future, assuring continued support to the University and young innovators. “We are determined to turn Ladakh into a hub of knowledge, innovation, and sustainability while preserving its unique cultural and ecological identity,” he said.

The ceremony, which witnessed the participation of faculty, students, and dignitaries, reflected the Administration’s broader vision of improving the quality of life in Ladakh through investments in healthcare, connectivity, renewable energy, and skill-based livelihood generation. During the event, degrees and medals were conferred upon meritorious students in recognition of their outstanding academic achievements.

Distinguished dignitaries present on the occasion included Chairman LAHDC Kargil Dr. Mohd. Jaffer Akhoon, Deputy Chairman LAHDC Leh Tsering Angchok, Member of Parliament Ladakh Hanifa Jaan, Chief Secretary UT Ladakh Dr. Pawan Kotwal, Vice Chancellor University of Kashmir Prof. Dr. Nilofer Khan, Vice Chancellor University of Ladakh Prof. Dr. Saket Kushwaha, Administrative Secretary Bhanu Prabha, Executive Councillors, Deputy Commissioner Kargil, Registrar, Controller of Examinations, Dean of Academic Affairs, faculty members, councillors, district officers, students, and their families.
