Div Com Kashmir directs constitution of committee for regulation of traffic movement in Srinagar city

Asks concerned departments to conduct survey to identify bottlenecks

SRINAGAR: In order to ensure hassle-free traffic movement in the city, Divisional Commissioner (Div Com) Kashmir, Anshul Garg, today directed the constitution of a committee headed by Deputy Commissioner Srinagar and asked concerned departments to survey to identify bottlenecks to address the issues of traffic congestion.

He made these remarks while chairing a meeting of the Multi-Disciplinary Committee for Srinagar.

Addressing officers, Div Com directed the constitution of the committee headed by Deputy Commissioner Srinagar with Commissioner SMC, SSP Traffic Srinagar, and Heads from stakeholder departments as members of the committee.

He directed officers to conduct a scientific study to identify bottlenecks and explore the integration of technology to address the issue of traffic congestion and to streamline traffic movement.

He instructed officers to come up with tangible suggestions and submit the same in a time-bound manner.

The meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, Akshay Labroo; Commissioner SMC, Fazlul Haseeb; VC LCMA, SSP Traffic Srinagar, SSP Traffic Rural, RTO Kashmir, Manager RTC, officers of the tourism department, R&B, Housing & Urban Development Department, and Home department.
