Pulwama: A man critically injured in a fall from a walnut tree in south Kashmir’s Tral area on Tuesday. He later succumbed at SMHS Hospital in Srinagar.
Officials said the deceased has been identified as 40-year-old Mukhter Ahmad, son of Abdul Rashid Gojree of Branpathri Nagbal, Tral. He was initially shifted to Sub District Hospital Tral after falling from a walnut tree and later referred to SMHS Hospital in critical condition, where he succumbed to injuries.
The incident comes at a time when walnut harvesting is in full swing across south Kashmir, a season that often witnesses accidents as workers climb tall and slippery trees without safety gear. This is reportedly the 3rd incident in this month. (KNT)
