Gulmarg Gondola to Remain Closed from Sept 22 to Sept 29 for Annual Maintenance

Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmir Cable Car Corporation (JKCCC) on Friday announced that the iconic Gulmarg Gondola will remain temporarily closed from September 22 to September 29, 2025, due to the scheduled Annual Inspection and Maintenance.

According to KNS , the authorities said the closure is part of routine safety protocols to ensure the smooth and secure functioning of one of Asia’s highest and longest cable cars.

“Gulmarg Gondola operations will remain suspended for a period of eight days starting September 22, 2025, to facilitate mandatory annual inspection and maintenance works. The service will resume normal operations from September 30, 2025,” the statement read.

The inspection will be carried out by certified engineers and technical experts to ensure compliance with international safety standards. All mechanical and electrical systems will be thoroughly checked and serviced during this period.

Tourists planning to visit Gulmarg during the last week of September are advised to reschedule their plans accordingly, as Gondola rides will not be available during the maintenance window.KNS
