Srinagar: Police in Awantipora have arrested a drug peddler and recovered a contraband substance from his possession.
At Udipora Y Band NH-44, one Mehraj-ud-din Ganie, son of Ghulam Mohammad Ganie of Kranchoo Pampore, at present New Colony Lethpora, was arrested after 0.86 grams of heroin-like substance was recovered from his possession. A case under relevant sections of law has been registered for investigation, police said.
