Hamdaniya FC lifts 2nd CRPF Football Cup 2025

Srinagar: The 2nd Edition of the CRPF Football Cup 2025 concluded with great zeal at the Synthetic Football Turf, TRC Srinagar, with Hamdaniya FC emerging champions after defeating Ganderbal United FC 3-1 in the final.

Organised by Srinagar Sector CRPF under its Civic Action Program in collaboration with the J&K Sports Council as part of the My Youth My Pride initiative, the week-long tournament featured 16 under-23 teams from Srinagar, Budgam, and Ganderbal districts.

In the high-octane final, Kifayat scored twice while Tabin Shafi added one for Hamdaniya FC. Mubashir struck the only goal for Ganderbal United FC.

Rajesh Kumar, IPS, ADG J&K Zone CRPF, was the chief guest on the occasion. The event was attended by senior CRPF officers, officials from J&K Sports Council, District Football Association, members of Real Kashmir FC, Paras Hospitals, and senior officers from J&K Police and CAPFs.

Pawan Kumar Sharma, IG Srinagar Sector CRPF, delivered the welcome address, while Shri Rajesh Kumar lauded the initiative, saying such tournaments channelise the energy of youth in a positive direction and open pathways for their football careers.

This year’s edition provided professional exposure with uniform kits, quality footballs, refreshments, and modern equipment. Players largely hailed from downtown Srinagar and rural Budgam and Ganderbal, with most pursuing studies at the high school level.

The winners were awarded ₹75,000, gold medals, and the Champions Cup, while runners-up Ganderbal United FC received ₹60,000 and silver medals. Special awards included:

Golden Boot: Suhail (Hamdaniya FC) – ₹5,000

Golden Gloves: Moomin Qayoom (Hamdaniya FC) – ₹5,000

Player of the Final: Kifayat (Hamdaniya FC) – ₹5,000

The 3rd Edition of the CRPF Cricket Cup 2025 was also announced and will be held from October 30 across four venues in Srinagar.
