Enquires about health people injured in Chashoti flash floods

Jammu: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha today visited Government Medical College in Jammu to enquire about the health of citizens injured in Chashoti flash floods.

According to an official press release, a team of doctors briefed the LG on appropriate and specialized treatment and integrated approach to the care of injured for their quick recovery. It was informed that 16 people are presently under-going treatment at GMC Jammu and being monitored by senior health staff.

Speaking to media persons on the sidelines of his visit, the LG reiterated the commitment of the administration to trace the 32 persons who are still missing.

“Government stands firmly with the bereaved family members who have lost their loved ones. Along with relief and rescue, the Government of India and J&K Administration is working on ensuring quick rehabilitation of the families affected by the tragic natural calamity. Search and rescue operations are underway on war footing to trace the missing persons,” the LG said.

He advised the people to take all necessary safety precautions. Advisory was issued today on inclement weather. NDRF and the SDRF are prepared to respond to emergencies, he said.
