Srinagar: Police in Kupwara arrested four drug peddlers in separate actions and recovered a “significant quantity” of contraband substances from their possession, a police spokesperson informed Thursday.
He said at Halpal road, two persons — Umair Ibn Fayaz, son of Fayaz Ahmad Mir of Regipora; and Kashif-ul-Islam, son of Mohammad Sultan Bhat of Batergam – were arrested after heroin-like substance was recovered from their possession.
At Rangward, two more persons — Manzoor Ahmad Bhat, son of Abdul Rehman Bhat of Krusan; and Aabid Shafi Mir, son of Mohammad Shafi, resident of Dharamwari – were arrested after recovery of contraband substances from their possession.
The spokesperson said all the accused have been shifted to respective police stations for further investigation.
