Hiranagar/Kathua: Bharatiya Janata Party, Jammu & Kashmir President Sat Sharma today led a team of senior party leaders to Kathua, Jasrota and Hiranagar Assembly Constituencies, where devastating cloudbursts caused massive damage to life and property.

The visit was aimed at assessing the ground realities, expressing solidarity with the affected families, and ensuring that immediate relief and long-term assistance reach the victims.

Sat Sharma, accompanied by other party leaders, visited several severely affected areas, including Jodh, village Dilwan, Ward No. 7 in Kathua and Pakke Kothe, Mathre Chack, Londi, Chan Charakhdi in Hiranagar, the relief camp and other places. He interacted with residents and listened patiently to their grievances. He assured the victims that the BJP stands firmly with them in this hour of crisis and every possible help would be mobilised to bring relief and rehabilitation.

The BJP senior leaders also visited the Government Medical College, Kathua, where many of the injured have been admitted. Sat Sharma enquired about their condition and personally interacted with the patients and their families. He took detailed feedback from the hospital administration regarding treatment facilities and directed that the best possible medical care must be provided without delay.

On this occasion, senior BJP leaders, including J&K BJP General Secretaries Sanjita Dogra, Baldev Singh Billawaria, and Gopal Mahajan, MLAs Rajiv Jasrotia, Adv. Vijay Sharma, Dr. Bharat Bhushan, District President Kathua Updesh Andotra, DDC Chairperson Col Maan Singh, Vice-Chairperson Raghunandan Singh Bablu and several other prominent leaders were present.

The delegation also met with the District Administration led by Deputy Commissioner Kathua to share the findings of the visit and the discuss the issues of the affected. They took the stock of ongoing relief and rescue operations and discussed measures to ensure timely compensation and effective rehabilitation for those affected.

Sat Sharma expressed deep anguish over the tragedy and stressed that the cloudburst in Kathua has caused immense suffering and irreparable losses to the people. He assured that no affected person should feel alone in this struggle, and the Bharatiya Janata Party is standing shoulder to shoulder with them. He also said that they would leave no stone unturned to ensure that adequate relief, rehabilitation, and long-term safety measures are implemented.
