PAMPORE/JAMMU: The Jammu and Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute (JKEDI) celebrated the 79th Independence Day with great enthusiasm and patriotic fervour at its Main Campus, Pampore and Regional Centre, Bari Brahmana, Jammu.
The event was attended by staff of the institute and local dignitaries, who gathered to honour the nation’s legacy and reflect on its journey towards progress and development.
Secretary in Industries and Commerce Department and Director JKEDI, Khalid Jahangir, presided over the function held at Main Campus Pampore.
At Regional Centre, Bari Brahmana, Jammu, Chand Kishor Sharma, Joint Director JKEDI hoisted the national flag and addressed the gathering.
The celebrations at Pampore commenced with the hoisting of the national flag by the Director JKEDI, followed by the singing of the national anthem.
In his address on the occasion, Director JKEDI paid rich tributes to the supreme sacrifices made by the people of the country, particularly the freedom fighters, whose courage and selflessness paved the way for India’s independence. He highlighted the pivotal role of Mahatma Gandhi, whose leadership and philosophy of non-violence became instrumental in achieving freedom for the nation.
He emphasized that as India marches towards the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047, there is a pressing need for progress in every field, economic, social and technological.
“JKEDI, as a premier institution for entrepreneurship and skill development in the Union Territory, has a responsibility to actively contribute to the nation’s aspirations,” he said, urging all the stakeholders to align their efforts with the larger goal of a developed India by 2047.
Joint Director JKEDI, Chand Kishor Sharma, hoisted the national flag at the JKEDI Regional Centre, Bari Brahmana, Jammu in presence of the employees.
The ceremony included singing of the national anthem and an address to the gathering by the Joint Director. In his address, the Joint Director JKEDI emphasized that economic empowerment and innovation are the cornerstones of a developed nation.
The twin ceremonies stood as a testament to unity and national pride, evoking remembrance of the sacrifices made by freedom fighters and emphasizing the collective duty of citizens towards nation-building.
Meanwhile, the Independence Day functions were also held in the District Centres of the institute. The employees of the institute also took part in the main function at Bakhshi Stadium, Srinagar.
