Committee on Public Accounts, PAC visits AlIMS Vijaypur

JAMMU: The Committee on Public Accounts (PAC) under the Chairmanship of MLA Sham Lal Sharma, today visited All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIMS), Vijaypur, Jammu, to review the infrastructural as well as overall medicare facilities being put in place for the patients.

Legislators, Mubarik Gul, Nazir Ahmad Khan (Gurezi), Balwant Singh Mankotia, Qaysar Jamshaid Lone, Altaf Ahmed Wani (Kaloo), Javid Hassan Baig, Dr. Devinder Kumar Manyal and Sajad Shaheen were also present during the visit.

Executive Director & CEO, AIIMS, Shakti Kumar Gupta and HODs from different departments gave a detailed power point presentation on infrastructural and other developmental activities. They also apprised about the availability of healthcare facilities, road map of activities for better treatment of patients.

During the meeting, the Committee informed about the objectives, mission, and future targets of AIIMS, besides other physical and financial achievements made by the authority.

The Members hoped that the AIIMS would provide hassle-free services to the patients. They also sought cooperation from the institution authorities to look after the patients coming from far-flung and neglected areas.

The members of the Public Accounts Committee gave suggestions to further strengthen the hospital.

The Chairman also appreciated the efforts of Executive Director, Professor Shakti Kumar Gupta in ensuring that overall healthcare services are being provided to the patients by the AIIMS. He also said that the Committee will visit AIIMS Kashmir and enquire about their ongoing construction works.

The Chairman assured that the PAC would give full support to AIIMS authorities.

The Committee also visited various departments and wards of the institution including Bio Chemistry Lab, Centre for Advance Genomics & Precision Medicine, Digital Laboratory, Lecture Hall, OPD block, department of Nuclear Medicine & Radio Therepy, Brachy Therepy, LINAC, Chemotherapy Day Care, CT Simulator, department of Transfusion Medicine (Blood Centre), Trauma & Emergency, MRI and Auditorium.

During the visit to different departments and wards, the concerned HODs and Doctors briefed the Committee about the working and facilities available in their respective departments for the patients.

During the visits, the Committee also met with the attendants of patient and enquired about the services and healthcare facilities being provided to the patients.
