Srinagar: Police claimed to have arrested 2 drug peddlers in Budgam & Pulwama and recovered contraband substances from their possession.
“In Budgam, a police team from Police Post Hardpanzoo, at a checkpoint established at Dasan village intercepted and apprehended a motorcyclist bearing Registration No. JK04B-7830. During search, police team recovered three sticks of charas-like substance, wrapped in corn straw, weighing approximately 60 grams from his possession. He has been identified as Shahnawaz Ahmad Shah, son of Ghulam Mohammad Shah, resident of Hardu-Latina. The motorcycle used in the crime was also seized. Accordingly, a case FIR No. 109/2025 under sections 8/20 of the NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Beerwah, and investigation is underway,” said a police spokesperson.
“In Pulwama, acting on specific intelligence, a police team of Police Station Pulwama established a naka at Circular Road Pulwama intercepted a suspected person namely Sajanbir Singh son of Harbajan Singh resident of Venke Lopoke Amritsar Punjab. During search, 3.5 grams of heroin was recovered from his possession. He has been arrested and accordingly, a case FIR No. 193/2025 under Section 8/22 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Pulwama,” he said.
