Power shutdown schedule announced for August 6 & 7

SRINAGAR: The Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited (KPDCL) and the Jammu and Kashmir Power Transmission Corporation Limited (JKPTCL) have announced scheduled power shutdowns across several areas on August 6 and 7, 2025, to facilitate infrastructure development and upgradation works.

According to KPDCL, the following shutdowns will be observed:

Bugroo Village (Khansahib Tap Line): For erection of ST poles and conductor shifting, power supply to Brenwar, Surasyar, Shenipora, Khansahib, Raithan, Yarikhah, Gurwaite, Essential Raithan, Watred, and adjoining areas will remain affected from 06:00 AM to 01:00 PM on August 6.

Amargarh SIDCO Line: To facilitate road widening/strengthening, power supply to Ladoora, Chakloo, Tragpora, Shutloo, Nadihal, Gurseer, and nearby areas will be off from 10:00 AM to 01:00 PM on August 6.

Amargarh-Watergam Line: For reconductoring under RDSS, power supply to Hadipora, Watergam, Hachipora, Ganapora, Safalpora, and adjoining areas will remain off from 08:00 AM to 01:00 PM on August 7.

Pampore-Lethpora Line (Pulwama): For LT AB cabling and segregation works under RDSS, power supply to Samboora, Lethpora, Patalbagh, Chandhara, Konibal, Dussoo, and nearby areas will remain affected from 08:00 AM to 01:00 PM on August 6 and 11.

Separately, the Chief Engineer JKPTCL has informed that to replace the Current Transformer of an 80 MVA transformer at Grid Station Kulgam, the power supply to Yaripora, Behibagh, Ashmuji, Kelam, Devsar, Chambgund, Neloo, Rambhama, DH Pora, Chawalgam, Nagam, Kulgam, and adjoining areas will be affected from 09:00 AM to 04:00 PM on August 6.

Authorities have urged the public to cooperate and plan accordingly.
