4 drug peddlers held

Srinagar: Police have arrested four drug peddlers in Anantnag, Kulgam and Awantipora and recovered contraband substances from their possession.

A police spokesperson informed that in Anantnag, one Abid Husain Mir, son of Bashir Ahmad Mir of Narupora, was arrested at Hangalgund, after 10.3 kilograms of cannabis leaves and cannabis seeds were recovered from his possession.

In Kulgam, at Alstop Bypass near Lalipora crossing, Salman Sadiq Dar, son of Mohammad Sadiq Dar of Nai Basti Anantnag was arrested and 1.4 kgs of cannabis leaves and 6.5 grams of charas-like contraband substance were recovered from his possession.

In Awantipora, at Gallander Pampore, Javed Ahmed Sheikh of Sangam and Muzafar Ahmad Shalla of Bijbihara, were arrested and their load-carrier (K03B-2127) seized after police recovered 1.265Kg of cannabis-like substance from their possession.
