Kargil Vijay Diwas celebrated at Sri Pratap College Srinagar

Srinagar: Kargil Vijay Diwas was celebrated with great zeal and patriotism at Sri Pratap College Srinagar.

The event was organized by the 1st J&K Battalion NCC Srinagar in collaboration with Sri Pratap College Srinagar, bringing together cadets, faculty members, students, and dignitaries in a solemn yet spirited remembrance.

The Chief Guests of the program, Lt. Col M. S. Dhanoa, alongside the esteemed Principal of Sri Pratap College, Dr. Bashir Ahmad Sheikh, were honored with guard of honour by NCC Cadets. Both dignitaries paid tribute to the Kargil martyrs and lauded the efforts of the NCC in instilling discipline and patriotism among youth. The ceremony began with the hoisting of the national flag and the playing of the national anthem, filling the atmosphere with pride and reverence.

Cadets of 1st J&K Battalion NCC and students from S. P. College presented a series of patriotic performances, including: Enthralling patriotic songs, Skits and dramatic presentations portraying the courage and valour of Kargil war heroes.

Lt. Col M. S. Dhanoa, in his address, shared inspiring stories from the battlefield and encouraged the youth to stay committed to the values of courage, service, and national unity. Dr. Bashir Ahmad Sheikh emphasized the importance of remembering national heroes and fostering a spirit of nationalism and civic responsibility among students.

The event concluded with a refreshment session arranged for all participating cadets, staff, and guests, marking the end of a memorable and respectful celebration.
