Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir is set to receive moderate to heavy rains along with thunderstorms at scattered places till July 28. Flash floods, landslides and shooting stones at vulnerable places are also expected, Meteorological Centre Srinagar predicted on Sunday.

As per the weather forecast, on 20 July it is expected to remain hot and humid with light to moderate rains along with thundershower at fairly widespread places. The forecast adds that there is possibility of heavy rains at isolated places in Jammu division mainly towards late night/early morning.

On 21 to 24 July, the weather in Jammu and Kashmir will be “generally cloudy” with intermittent spells of light to moderate rain coupled with thundershower at many places. Intense showers are forecast at few places with heavy rains at isolated places in J&K.

From 25 to 28 July some places are predicted to experience intense showers whereas heavy rains will lash isolated places in J&K. Yet, scattered places will witness hot and humid weather with the possibility of brief showers in the UT

Meteorological Centre Srinagar cautioned the public about the possibility of flash floods at few vulnerable places with landslides/mudslides and shooting stones as J&K is expected to receive heavy rains during 21-24th July. It also advised the farmers to suspend farm operations during this time.

It warned that water level in rivers, and streams will rise during this time.
