DDC Kupwara convenes review meeting of District Capex Budget 2025-26

Approves outlay stands at Rs 109 crore, 1874 works under execution

KUPWARA: Chairman, District Development Council (DDC) Kupwara, Irfan Sultan Panditpori, today chaired the council meeting in the meeting hall of DC office Complex here to review the progress of various developmental projects under District CAPEX Budget 2025-26.

Deputy Commissioner Kupwara, Ayushi Sudan; Vice-Chairman, District Development Council, Haji Farooq Ahmad Mir; CEO District Development Council, Mufti Fareed ud din; Members of District Development Council, besides district and sectoral officers, attended the meeting.

At the outset, Chief Planning Officer Kupwara, presented a detailed overview of the ongoing projects under District CAPEX Budget 2025-26 including sectors like Minor Irrigation, R&B, Elementary Education, Secondary Education, Youth Services & Sports, Health, PHE, NFB, United Grants, ADF (DDC/BDC/PRI grants) and Samridh Seema Yojna.

The meeting was informed that the total approved outlay for 2025-26 involves Rs 10908 lakh, and funds released as on date are Rs 3007 lakh for the execution of 1874 ongoing works.

The chairman took a detailed review of the physical and financial status of works taken up under the District Capex schemes and other sectors.

During the meeting, council members projected various demands concerning their respective constituencies including shortage of BDOs in different blocks.

After reviewing the sector wise progress of the works, Chairman impressed upon district level officers of all departments to expedite the process of tendering, allotments and speed up the pace of development projects, keeping in mind the limited working season and ensure completion of projects so that all targets for the current financial year are achieved within the stipulated time frame.

On the occasion, Vice Chairman, DDC also asked the officers to put in their best efforts for timely completion of works for optimum utilization of funds under different schemes.

Deputy Commissioner also impressed upon all the officers to gear up their men and machinery to ensure timely execution of the works. She directed them to redouble their efforts to ensure completion of the developmental projects before the onset of winter.

ADDC Kupwara who is CEO of District Development Council urged the officers to be responsive to the public, actively address their genuine needs and embrace the role as public servants. He emphasized upon the officers for accountability, empathy, and prioritization of proactive service and public welfare.

He encouraged the officers to work diligently to propel the district Kupwara towards greater development, progress, and improving the quality of life for residents.
