Ramban: Four passengers died while two others were critically injured after a vehicle they were travelling in skidded off the road and plunged into a deep gorge at Ukhral Pogal Paristan tehsil of district Ramban on Friday evening, officials said.
An official told Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that an accident occurred on the Senabati link road near Madina Masjid hill in Paristan area of Ukhral tehsil, where a Tata Sumo rolled down around 600 feet from the link road.
He said four people died while two others were shifted to GMC Anantnag for treatment.
Deputy Commissioner Ramaban in a post on X said, “District Administration Ramban expresses profound grief over the tragic loss of four precious lives in a road accident at Ukhral Senabathi.”
“Our thoughts and prayers are with the bereaved families, and we wish a speedy recovery to the injured,” he said.
DC said assistance of Rs 1 lakh is being provided to each deceased’s family and Rs 25,000 to each injured person. All possible support is being extended to the affected families, he added.
Meanwhile, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha expressed deep grief over the loss of lives due to a tragic road accident in the Ukhral Senabathi area of Ramban.
In a condolence message, the Lieutenant Governor has said: “Saddened to learn about the loss of lives due to the tragic road accident in Ramban. In this hour of grief, my thoughts are with those who have lost their loved ones. I pray for a speedy recovery of those injured in the accident.”
