Srinagar: Police have arrested three drug peddlers in Pulwama and Awantipora and recovered contraband substances from their possession.
A police spokesperson informed that Shakir Arsheed, son of Arsheed Ahmad Bhat, and Muzamil Gul, son of Ghulam Mohammad Sheikh, both residents of Samboora were arrested near Bujibagh Crossing, after a “substantial quantity” of contraband substances was recovered from their possession.
At New Circular Road near Barpora Crossing, police arrested one Rashid Hussain, son of Mohammad Yousuf Thoker after 9.90 grams of heroin-like substance was recovered from him.
Cases under relevant sections of law have been registered for investigation.
