KUPWARA: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kupwara, Ayushi Sudan, today conducted an extensive tour of the border area of Machill to inspect various ongoing developmental projects.
During the visit, DC inspected the ongoing construction of Ring Payeen-Ring Bala road, coming up at a cost of Rs 2.69 crore. She impressed upon the officers of R&B to ensure completion of the road within the stipulated time frame so that the local people can get benefit from better road connectivity.
She also inspected the 400-feet Road Wall constructed by the Rural Development department at Ring Payeen.
DC also paid a visit to the Primary Health Centre Dudi and inspected the functioning of the hospital. She stressed upon the Doctors and hospital staff to work with added zeal and dedication to cater to the needs of this far-flung border sector so that the people may not face any inconvenience in getting proper healthcare.
She directed the concerned officials to install the solar system already sanctioned for providing hassle-free power backup to the health centre.
DC also visited Government Higher Secondary School Ring Payeen and HSS Dudi and interacted with the school Principals and staff of these schools. She inspected the classrooms, the library, the laboratory and other facilities of the school.
She also enquired about the board results, subject-specific faculty and use of the Library, Laboratory and other equipment by the students.
During the day-long tour, DC met several public delegations who apprised her about their developmental issues pertaining to road connectivity, water supply, power etc. She heard them patiently and resolved various issues on the spot.
DC was accompanied by Chief Medical Officer Kupwara, Chief Planning Officer, Executive Engineer R&B Division Lolab and other concerned officers.
