Anantnag: Describing Pakistan as “terrorist country” Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Monday accused it of attempting to derail Jammu and Kashmir’s development journey and sow discord among communities.
Addressing a gathering on the occasion of ‘Harbah Utsav’ at Larkipora Aishmuqan, LG Sinhasaid, “Pakistan, a terrorist country is determined to undo the hard-earned progress made in the last five years in Jammu and Kashmir. It wants to break our unity. We must not allow it to succeed in its nefarious designs,” he said.
“My appeal to the people is to identify and isolate those who, on behest of the terrorist nation Pakistan, are trying to create a divide on communal lines. They are the enemies of peace and development and we must stand united against such elements, he said.
He stressed the only way to defeat the enemy’s agenda is through unity and collective resistance. “We all must fight together against the ill designs of the terrorist country. Police and security forces are playing a crucial role in the fight against terrorism. But the people’s cooperation is equally important.”
Meanwhile, on the occasion of ‘Harbah Utsav’, the Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha paid obeisance at Mata Sidh Lakshmi Temple at Teerathraj Lok Bhawan, Anantnag and called for spreading message of compassion, selflessness, inherent divinity of all beings.
He participated in the Mahayagya organised by the Teerathraj Sidh Lakshmi Peeth Trust and prayed for well-being of all and peace and prosperity of Jammu & Kashmir, an official press release informed.
It said the LG also interacted with the devotees and extended his hearty greetings on the auspicious occasion.
“Teerathraj Lok Bhawan has remained the centre of our devotion and faith since ancient times. It is an occasion to spread awareness about spiritual heritage which emphasises on tolerance and acceptance of other religious traditions, viewing them as different paths leading towards the same ultimate truth,” the LG said.
The LG emphasised on unity in diversity and urged everyone to strengthen the bond of brotherhood and values of selfless service.
“We must spread the message of compassion, selflessness, and the inherent divinity of all beings. We should encourage young people to treat everyone with respect and dedicate themselves to build a just and humane society,” the LG said.
Speaking to the media persons on the sidelines of his visit, the LG said: “There is an atmosphere of joy across J&K as devotees arrive for the holy Shri Amarnathji Yatra. Muharram processions were taken out peacefully, and today we have gathered here at Mata Sidh Lakshmi Temple. It’s heartening to see communities celebrating together in unity and mutual respect. This is the true spirit of Jammu & Kashmir.”

LG visits Nunwan base camp at Pahalgam, reviews arrangements
Srinagar, Jul 07: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha today visited Nunwan Base camp at Pahalgam and reviewed the arrangements in place for the ongoing Amarnath Yatra.
According to an official press release, the LG interacted with the pilgrims, service providers, langar sevadars, sanitation workers, and took stock of the facilities for the devotees. He commended the significant contribution of all stakeholders in the smooth and successful conduct of the holy pilgrimage.
During his visit, the LG chaired a meeting with the administrative and security officials and discussed measures taken for the safe and hassle-free journey of the devotees of ‘Baba Barfani;. He also reviewed the queue management at the camp.
The LG was accompanied by Dr Mandeep K. Bhandari, Principal Secretary to LG and CEO, Shri Amarnath Shrine Board; VK Birdi, IGP Kashmir; Syeed Fakhrudin Hamid, Deputy Commissioner Anantnag and other senior officers of district administration, SASB, police and security forces.
