Kupwara: One person was killed while three others were injured Saturday afternoon after the vehicle they were traveling in rolled down into a deep gorge in Dana area of border town Karnah.

Incharge Block Medical Officer Karnah Dr Arif Khawaja confirmed the death of a person and injuries to three other persons. “The vehicle they were travelling in was enroute to Kupwara and on reaching Dana near Sadhna Top, the vehicle rolled down into a deep gorge resulting in the death of an individual and injuries to three,” officials said.

“The condition of the two among three injured has been reported critical so they are being evacuated to Sub District Hospital (SDH) Kupwara,” they added.

The deceased person was identified as Pharmacist Mohammad Rafiq Khan, and the critically injured as Mohammad Ashraf Mallah, Block Accounts Manager Tanghdar; Parveena Begum, wife of Mohammad Rafiq Khan; and Shahid Ahmad Khan, son of Mohammad Rafiq Khan.
