Khyber Cement clinches top honours for excellence in sustainable mining and environmental responsibility

Srinagar: Khyber Cement has been recognised with a series of prestigious accolades during the 34th Mines and Mineral Conservation Week, organised by the Indian Bureau of Mines for the Dehradun Region.

The awards reaffirm Khyber Cement’s position as a frontrunner in responsible mining and industrial leadership.

The company secured four awards: first prize for Mineral Conservation, first prize for Reclamation and Rehabilitation, third prize for Sustainable Development, and third prize for Overall Performance. A powerful reflection of Khyber’s steadfast commitment to sustainability, innovation, and community-conscious practices. These awards were received by Riaz Tramboo, Director of Operations at Khyber Cement, and Myser Ahmed Khan, Chief of Mines at Khyber Cement, both of whom have played a pivotal role in aligning Khyber Cement’s operations with the highest benchmarks of excellence.

Speaking on the achievement, Riaz Tramboo, Director of Operations, shared, “At Khyber, we believe that true progress is rooted in responsibility. These recognitions are a reflection of our long-standing promise to preserve and protect the land that sustains us. This honour belongs to every member of the Khyber family who works with sincerity and purpose.”

Myser Ahmed Khan, Chief of Mines, added, “These awards reaffirm the core values we uphold in our mining operations, safety, sustainability, and scientific precision. I’m proud to be part of a team that doesn’t just meet standards, but consistently sets new ones for others to follow.”
