Javid Dar reviews Muharram-ul-Haram arrangements in Budgam

BUDGAM: In view of the upcoming holy month of Muharram-ul-Haram, Minister for Agriculture Production Department, Rural Development Department and Panchyati Raj, Javid Ahmad Dar, today conducted a comprehensive review of the arrangements being put in place across the district.

The meeting, held in this regard, was attended by Advisor to Chief Minister, Nasir Aslam Wani; MLA Chadoora, Ali Mohammad Dar; MLA Beerwah, Dr. Shafi Ahmad Wani; MLA Khan Sahib, Saif-ud-Din Bhatt; Deputy Commissioner, Budgam, Dr. Bilal Mohi-ud-Din Bhat and senior officials from line departments besides the representatives from various Shia associations and delegations from all constituencies of the district.

During the interaction, Shia community representatives apprised the dignitaries of their demands and concerns. These included uninterrupted water and power supply, installation of solar energy systems, macadamisation of internal roads and lanes, sanitation drives and overall infrastructural support to ensure safe and dignified observance of Muharram.

Speaking on the occasion, Javid Dar emphasized the importance of proactive coordination between the civil administration and community representatives. He directed the concerned departments to immediately address genuine issues and ensure the timely execution of all necessary arrangements.

The Minister assured that all demands and issues raised by the representatives will be addressed on a priority basis. He also directed the Deputy Commissioner to ensure that all basic requirements are fulfilled, especially during holy occasions.

Advisor to Chief Minister, Nasir Aslam Wani, assured the participants that all feasible demands will be looked into for resolution. He said that necessary directions have already been issued for the strengthening of essential services in Shia-dominated areas during Muharram days.

Deputy Commissioner Budgam, Dr. Bilal Mohi-ud-Din Bhat, also assured the public representatives and Shia delegations that a comprehensive plan is being put in place to facilitate a peaceful and smooth conduct of religious events. He informed that a control room will also be established for round-the-clock grievance redressal and coordination.

The meeting concluded with a joint appeal for communal harmony, mutual cooperation and collective efforts to ensure the sanctity and smooth observance of Muharram-ul-Haram across the district.
