DC Srinagar reviews preparation for ‘International Yoga Day’

SRINAGAR: In order to review preparations for ‘International Day of Yoga’ being observed on June 21, a meeting of senior Officers was held under the chairmanship of the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Srinagar, Dr. Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat here.

At the outset, DC called for inter-departmental coordination, besides ensuring mass participation for the success of the divisional and district level events.

He passed directions to the line departments for making all necessary arrangements well in advance at the sites where mega yoga sessions will be held to commemorate the day.

The meeting was informed that the main divisional level event for celebrations of ‘International Day of Yoga’ will be organized at the lawns of SKICC where a large number of people are expected to participate in the event.

DC directed the stakeholder departments to work in a coordinated manner to ensure all the necessary arrangements well in time for successful conduct of the divisional level event.

The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner, Aadil Fareed; Chief Planning Officer, SP Security, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Deputy SP Traffic, Assistant Commissioner Revenue, SDM East, Tehsildar South, Tehsildar Khanyar, Chief Sanitation Officer, District YSS Officer, Deputy CEO, other senior Officers, besides Officers from AYUSH, Tourism, Fire & Emergency departments and Army.
