   Secretary School Education visits Sgr Schools; emphasises student-centric reforms

SRINAGAR, MAY 30: Secretary School Education, Ram Nivas Sharma, today conducted an extensive visit to various educational institutions functioning in Srinagar, holding exclusive interaction with the students and the teachers.

Accompanied by Director School Education Kashmir Dr. G.N. Itoo, the Secretary visited S.P. Higher Secondary School Srinagar, Girls Higher Secondary School Kothibagh and Middle School Kothibagh. He sought feedback from the students and the teachers regarding the facilities available in their respective institutions.

At the Kindergarten section of Middle School Kothibagh, the Secretary shared moments of joy with little kids, emphasizing the importance of early childhood education and joyful learning environments.

Addressing the students during the visit, the Secretary urged upon them to not only focus on academic excellence but also engage actively in co-curricular activities. He emphasized the need for students to embrace the opportunities of modern Artificial Intelligence era.

The Secretary also underscored the need to preserve Jammu & Kashmir’s rich cultural heritage through education and stressed the urgent importance of improving female literacy rate. He assured that infrastructure development in schools will remain a core priority.

Later in the day, a review meeting was convened at the Directorate of School Education Kashmir, where Sharma held detailed discussions with the officers of the department including Chief Education Officers from across the Kashmir Division and other senior officials.

Dr. G.N. Itoo gave a comprehensive PowerPoint Presentation highlighting the ongoing academic and non-academic initiatives, along with key developmental projects underway in the region.
