Srinagar: Police have arrested four drug peddlers in Sopore and recovered contraband substances from their possession.
A police spokesperson informed that on specific inputs from the public, police in Sopore launched a series of well-coordinated operations leading to the arrest of four drug peddlers and seizure of narcotic substances, including codeine-based syrup and brown sugar-like substances.
Those arrested during the operation were identified as Rameez Ahmad Mir, son of Ghulam Hassan Mir, resident of Adipora Sopore; Waseem Ahmad Mir, son of Ghulam Hassan Mir, resident of Adipora Sopore; Javid Ahmad Bhat, son of Mohammad Subhan Bhat, and Rayees Ahmad Baba, son of Bashir Ahmad Baba, both residents of Marzipora. A truck (JK05E-4845 was also seized, police said.
