DLSA Budgam convenes review meeting of panel lawyers

BUDGAM: District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Budgam, convened a review, monitoring and mentoring meeting of panel lawyers.

The programme was held under the chairmanship of O.P Bhagat, Chairman DLSA (Principal District & Sessions Judge) Budgam, and supervision of Nusrat Ali Hakak. Secretary DLSA Budgam.

The meeting was chaired by Chairman DLSA Budgam and attended by Nusrat Ali Hakak, Sub-Judge/ Secretary DLSA Budgam; Mubashir Ahmad Wani Advocate and panel lawyers of DLSA Budgam.

Meeting assessed the progress of legal aid cases assigned to panel lawyers over time. In-depth discussions were also held regarding various cases, with a focus on identifying challenges, sharing best practices, and ensuring timely and effective legal assistance for beneficiaries.

Chairman DLSA emphasized the importance of diligent case management, urging panel lawyers to remain committed to upholding the principles of justice and accessibility.

During the meeting, progress of several ongoing cases was thoroughly examined and reviewed.

Participants engaged in a detailed dialogue on improving case outcomes and enhancing coordination between panel lawyers and the DLSA.

Secretary DLSA highlighted the need for continued efforts to provide equitable and prompt legal aid to marginalized sections of society, reiterating DLSA’s mission to make justice accessible to all, and insisted panel lawyers to use legal services management system (LSMS) for upgrading their cases regularly.

The meeting concluded with a renewed commitment from the panel lawyers to strengthen the legal aid framework in Budgam and enhance service delivery.
