Srinagar: Police have arrested a notorious drug peddler and recovered contraband substances from his possession.
A police spokesperson informed that at a checkpoint established at Ranbirgarh, police arrested a “notorious” drug peddler identified as Zubair Ahmed Sheikh, son of Gulzar Ahmed Sheikh, resident of Lawaypora. During the search, a substantial quantity of heroin-like substance was recovered from his possession.
A case under sections of NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Shaltang and investigation has been initiated, police said.
