When Walls Begin to Teach: A New Learning Tool in our schools

Left us trembling, fear more.

It opened eyes, broke the lies

Revealed the truth we long disguise.

How vital now is kindness shown,

A helping hand when we are alone.

In times of pain, through grief

We learned the worth of a gentle life.

In the darkest hour, hands reached out,

No place for hate, no room for doubt.

A stranger’s pain became our own,

And kindness in our hearts was sown.

But, why in peace do we turn away,

When silent tears beg us to stay?

We pass the weak with hardened eyes,

Ignore their wounds, their unheard cries.

When hardship knocks at every door,

We turn to kindness, rich and poor.

We whisper prayers, recall His name.

But in the calm of normal days,

Do we still walk in kinder ways?

Do we pause for the helpless souls,

Or pass them by; with our hollow souls.

Today we speak of empathy,

Of kindness, love and humanity.

But aren’t we those who shaped this land,

With hardened hearts and selfish hands.

For us, it was a battle, a fight we could see

But for the weak, the poor, the speechless, it’s their daily plea.

Everyday they face a war, a silent strife

Crushed beneath our apathy!!

We see them there, yet do we see?

A begging hand, empty stomachs?

If we can love when skies are gray,

Why not show warmth every day?

Why wait for storms to make us see?

That kindness is the way to be!!
