Srinagar: Police have arrested a drug peddler from Bemina area and recovered contraband substances from his possession.
A police spokesperson said that during patrolling, police intercepted a scooty rider at Hamza Colony and recovered a substantial quantity of brown sugar from his passion. Identified as Mohammad Rafiq Kaloo, son of Abdul Khaliq Kaloo of Sumbal Bandipora, at present Mansoor Colony Bemina, the peddler was arrested and his scooty seized.
At Pundhaan (Shopian), one Aadil Ahmad Ahanger, son of Bashir Ahmad Ahanger of Muradpora Shopian was arrested after 80 grams of cannabis-like substance was recovered from his possession.
Cases under relevant sections of law have been registered in respective police stations for further investigation, police said.
