Scheduled power shutdowns announced in various areas across Kashmir

SRINAGAR, MAY 13: The Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited (KPDCL) has announced a series of scheduled power shutdowns in various areas of the Kashmir Valley to facilitate branch cutting, pruning of trees near power lines, shifting of electrical utilities, and necessary stabilisation works.

According to the Chief Engineer, Distribution, KPDCL, in order to carry out the branch cutting/pruning of trees lying in the close vicinity of the line, shutdown of 33kv Cheshma Shahi Centaur Buchwara line shall be observed, due to which 33/11kv Receiving Stations at Buchwara and BB Cant. shall remain off while power supply to Nehru Park, Dalgate, Dal, CEN01 (Zabarwan) and adjoining areas besides BB Cant Tap Line will be affected from 10:00 AM to 05:00 PM on 18 May, 2025.

Similarly, to carry out Branch cutting/ pruning of trees lying in the close vicinity of these lines, the shutdown of 33kv Habbak Hazratbal line shall be observed, due to which 33/11KV Receiving Stations at Habak, Hazratbal shall remain off while power supply to Hazratbal, Umer Colony, Rangpora, BARC, Habak, KU, Nigeen, Kanitar, NIT, Hazratbal shrine and adjoining areas will be affected from 10:00 AM to 05:00 PM on 18 May 2025.

Also in this connection, the shutdown of the 33kv GIS Nowshera BAMK line shall be observed, due to which 33/11kv Receiving Station at BAMK shall remain off while power supply to Raja Colony, BAMK Industries, Zadibal, Alamgari Bazar, Bota Kadal, Gilli Kadal and adjoining areas will be affected from 11:00 AM to 03:00 PM on 25 May, 2025.

Further to facilitate the evacuation of power from GIS Harwan, the shutdown of 33kv Burzhama Tap line shall be observed, due to which 33/11KV Receiving Station at Burzhama shall remain off while power supply to Danihama, Khimber, Chatterhama, Telbal, Burzhama, Gassu, Shopperbagh, Rahbagh, Batpora and adjoining areas will be affected from 10:00 AM to 05:00 PM on 18, 20 & 22 May 2025.

Moreover, to carry out branch cutting and necessary stabilisation works, the shutdown of 33kv Uri line shall be observed due to which 33/11kv Receiving Stations at Salamabad, Bandi, Mohura, Noorkah shall remain off while power supply to Salamabad, Bandi, Mohura, Noorkah and adjoining areas will be affected from 10:00 AM to 03:00 PM on 24 & 27 May, 2025.

Also in this connection, the shutdown of 33kv Boniyar line shall be observed due to which 33/11KV Receiving Stations at Boniyar, Nowshera shall remain off while power supply to Boniyar, Nowshera and adjoining areas will be affected from 10:00 AM to 03:00 PM on 19 & 22 May, 2025.

The shutdown of 33KV SIDCO line shall be observed, due to which 33/11 kv Receiving Stations at Rohama, Chakloo, MID, Irrigation, and Seer shall remain off while power supply to Rohama, Chakloo, MID, Irrigation, Seer and adjoining areas will be affected from 10:00 AM to 03:00 PM on 24 May 2025.

The shutdown of 33KV Malpora line shall be observed, due to which 33/11kv Receiving Stations at Chandoosa, Malpora, Gantamulla, Sultanpora shall remain off while power supply to Chandoosa, Malpora, Gantamulla, Sultanpora and adjoining areas will be affected from 10:00 AM to 03:00 PM on 20 May 2025.

Additionally, to facilitate the shifting of electrical utilities along the road, the shutdown of 33kv Badampora Wangipora Tap line shall be observed, due to which 33/11kv Receiving Stations at Batwina, Wangipora, Nowgam shall remain off while power supply to Batwina, Nowgam, Wangipora, Zazna, Ahan, Waskura, Kharbagh, Sumbal, Nesbal and adjoining areas will be affected from 10:00 AM to 04:00 PM on 17, 20 & 24 May 2025.

Also in this connection, the shutdown of 33kv Badampora Army Hakbara line shall be observed due to which 33/11KV Receiving Stations at Hakbara, Hajin, Madwan, Army shall remain off while power supply to Hajin, Preng, Madwan, Banyari, Hakbara, Chandergeer and adjoining areas will be affected from 10:00 AM to 04:00 PM on 17, 20 & 24 May, 2025.
