Mandeep Kaur visits Srinagar city; reviews ongoing projects

SRINAGAR: Commissioner Secretary, Housing & Urban Development Department (H&UDD), Mandeep Kaur, today conducted an extensive tour of Srinagar city to review the implementation of key urban developmental projects.

Commissioner Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC), Dr. Owais Ahmed, Vice Chairman LCMA, Shahid Saleem, senior officials of SMC, LCMA and other line departments accompanied the Commissioner Secretary.

The tour included a visit to multiple project sites across the city, focusing on ongoing interventions aimed at urban beautification, environmental sustainability and infrastructure development.

The Commissioner Secretary visited Eidgah, Brar Numbal site, Rakh Arth housing colony Bemina, Parimpora and adjoining areas.

She emphasized the importance of completing projects within stipulated timelines. He asked for fostering effective coordination among the agencies to realise tangible improvements in Srinagar’s air quality. She stressed the need to accelerate project execution and involve local communities for greater impact.

Later, the Commissioner Secretary held a review meeting with the concerned officials to discuss project timelines, identify bottlenecks and formulate mitigation strategies.

The Commissioner Secretary highlighted the critical role of sustainable urban planning and smart city initiatives in creating a resilient, cleaner and healthier Srinagar.
